Adults who want to go back to college, as well as those who want to start college, are cordially invited to an Adult Information Fair that will be held at Roane State Community College’s Cumberland County Campus.
The fair will be Thursday, March 16, from 3 to 6 p.m. central time in the hallways of the campus, 2569 Cook Road in Crossville. It’s a free event.
Adults age 25 and above will have the opportunity to learn about Roane State programs ranging from academic credits for work experience to the college’s role in the statewide Reconnect Initiative.
That effort is part of Gov. Bill Haslam’s ambitious “Drive to 55” project that seeks to have 55 percent of Tennesseans with college degrees by the year 2025.
There are around one million adults in Tennessee that have some college but no degree. The Reconnect Initiative encourages those adults to finish their collegiate studies.
Questions about applying for admission to Roane State, getting financial aid and selecting a program can be answered during the March 16 event.
Information about different loans available for students will be available from officials with Upper Cumberland Federal Credit Union.
TN Technological University will be on hand with information about different degree pathways between Roane State and TN Technological University.
Representatives from Medic Blood will also be on hand to promote the organization’s upcoming blood drive, scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 23, in the Community Room of the college’s Cumberland County campus.
For more information, contact Denette Flynn, Roane State Reconnect counselor, at flynnd@roanestate.edu, or Bonnie Moedano on the Cumberland County campus at 931-456-4910, or moedanobm@roanestate.edu.
